New scientific excuse for sales SatNav errors

Sales jobs employees that find themselves pitching to a cow in a field rather than executives in a boardroom can now give a scientific explanation for their SatNav error.

According to researchers at the University of Bath, Aurora Borealis - more commonly known as the Northern Lights - can interfere with GPS signals.

This could result in dodgy or erroneous SatNav readings.

However, while this means that sales jobs employees may not always be to blame for getting lost while on the move, there is unfortunately little that can be done about it.

Professor Cathryn Mitchell told the Telegraph: "Anywhere that the aurora is visible, it will cause disruption.

"Although most people in the UK can't see the aurora when it is happening, because of cloud or ambient light, it can still affect the GPS signal."

Scientists believe that the SatNav signal is disrupted when it passes through the aurora, but warn that the worst is yet to come for the GPS sales jobs user.

"We have just passed a minimum in activity but we are due to hit a maximum in 2012, which is when we would expect to see most disruption," Professor Mitchell added.
