REC: Sales jobs candidates should concentrate on their CV
A leading organisation has advised candidates for sales jobs to ensure they focus on building up their CVs.
The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has highlighted the importance of flexibility and being prepared to fight for positions in the competitive jobs market.
Kevin Green, chief executive of the organisation, advises jobseekers to obtain practical work experience through temping or internships in order to prepare themselves to apply for sales jobs.
He says: "For those planning to jump straight into the jobs market, flexibility and persistence will be vital. A carefully thought through and typo-free CV is a good start."
Mr Green highlights the importance of providing evidence of the life skills and attributes that businesses will be looking for.
Last week, figures published by Powerchex revealed that one in five applicants to sales jobs lie on their CV, with 2009 being the second time this figure has risen in consecutive years.
