'Prepare well' for success in job hunt

Research is the key for helping jobseekers find their dream sales jobs despite the difficult economic climate, it has been claimed.

According to job search engine Simply Hired, those looking for employment and sales jobs can still hope to progress their careers despite the downturn if they prepare thoroughly.

Sachin Shah, international director at the company, commented: "Researching their industry and salary bracket for their desired job role to be aware of what they might expect from potential employers is a great way for candidates to show they are both ambitious and realistic."

Research carried out by the group found that 69 per cent of UK workers would be willing to accept a pay cut in the current climate, with 37 per cent saying they would do so because they were afraid they would not be able to find another job.

Last week, Will Cookson, head of skills at employment specialists Working Links, said that improving skills is a good way for jobseekers to improve their chances of employment.
